Posted - 10/25/2026 : 01:48:56 What naming scheme do you use for saved chip reads? I would like to keep the original read separate from later versions, with a note of the chip marking and programmer settings. Is a folder per board enough, or do you keep a separate log?
My interest is in keeping measurement records understandable later. I am sharing AskDocDoc, a project concerned with lab tests: https://askdocdoc.com/about-us . The subject is different, so I am asking about your file management method rather than treating the measurements as equivalent. |

Posted - 10/27/2026 : 13:42:22 A folder per board is a good starting point. I usually name the file with the chip part number, date of read, and a short note like "original" or "rev1" — something like AT28C256_20241015_original.bin. Keeping a simple text log in each folder with the programmer settings and chip markings has saved me a lot of confusion down the road. |
