Is the ZIF socket on the GQ-4X soldered directly to the PCB?

Or is it inserted into a socket that is soldered to the PCB?

Just asking for future reference in case I have any contact issues.

So it's secured to the main PCB by brass standoffs and 4 screws to keep the .100 header firmly connected?

The ZIF socket is on a ZIF module, called ADP-089.
See:

And then the module plugged on the main PCB board.
