Hi guys! I need to write Tms2532A eprom with my Gq-4x4 but i can't :( I read that i can write only 2532 and read 2532A... It's possibile whit update?? Thanks! |

Probably an algorithm problem. Do you have the datasheet? |

The problem may be related to the power too. Those old EPROMs may need very high current when programming. But programmer only can provide very limited current. |

Here is the procedure I use, which seems to work for me:
1. Plugin the GQ-4x programmer into the USB port, and listen for double-beep 2. Plugin an external 9v power supply 3. Start the GQ USB Programmer Software 4. Set device to "TMS2532A(READ ONLY)" Note: This will set the Vpp to 21v instead of 25v Do not use 2532 devices (without the "A") at 25v as they will fry the chip forever 5. Set the Speed to lowest value (-2) 6. Select Write, Verify and Double-Write 7. Load your bin file 8. Click the Write button (it will write twice, and then verify)

Just got a batch of TMS2532A chips that I was trying to program with the GQ-4X, but had no luck. I suspected that the chips were possibly counterfeit... all having the same LHP0940 (2009!) date code was a clue.
I grabbed the microscope and looked for die markings, and found that these were actually 2732s. For fun, I selected a 2732 (25V Vpp) in the GQ-4X software and they programmed/verified just fine. So I guess they're not garbage, just not very useful if you need a 2532.
Attached are some images comparing those to my legit TMS2532A chip (legit on the right), which had a 2532HS die marking. BTW, this is the seller I bought from (don't buy these!): https://www.ebay.com/itm/264676821832
So, if you're struggling with getting TMS2532A chips to burn... check if they're actually 2732s.
