Dear guys,
I am planning to buy GQ-5X universal programmer in order to program NAND chips for Samsung TVs. The only doubt I have that I have heard from my friend that the device works stably with Windows 10 only. Is that true? Please comment on that. Thanks.

Well thanks, Another question. I need this device for my repair shop where I have several Samsung UE32D5520 (BN41-01660) having cyclic reloading. I tried many other programmers including Xeltek 6100 - no result. According to my knowledge QG-5X can handle the K9GAG08. Does anyone have some experience with such TVs programmed by QS-5X successfully? Thanks.

Yes the GQ-5X handles those chips but the Xeltek SuperPro 6100 also does if you have the right adapter.
Those Samsung TVs also require extra steps in your workflow to succeed.

There are other topics in this forum discussing those steps in great details but some are in Spanish, if you have the time everything is documented.

I am sorry I did not get it. You mean GQ-4X or GQ-5X? Which one does the job? Or both?

Yes but not exactly the same models. Canadian versions are also plagued with the same dreaded boot loop.

True but a Xeltek adapter alone will set you back more than the price of a GQ-5X with it's adapter.

I don't think it would bring any value to the GQ-5X.
What has become of the "universal" part of the GQ-5X? Will it replace the GQ-4X eventually?

Yes, it would be great to have a Linux version particularly for Ubuntu. I am personally sick and tired of Windows. Please do not hesitate and create one. :)

Dear guys please HELP!
I received my GQ-5X finally. However I cannot fix the TVs I have in my repair shop. I tried different dumps - no results. The TVs go in loop. All the dumps I have came from different sources.
Does anybody have a dump for NB41-01661 that was copied with GQ-5X?
I need it badly. I am struggling for months. Please help. Thanks.

And another question. My dump files are bigger than the size that is written in the Nand.txt file. My files end with 88A7D7FF address and in the Nand.txt it is written 86D00000. Which one is correct? Maybe I should change Nand.txt?

Yes there was an error in the nand.txt change it to
Name="K9GAG08U0E",MFG="Samsung",ID1="ech",ID2="d5h",ID3="84h",ID4="72h",ID5="50h",ID6="42h",size="88A7D800h",PageSize="21b4h",BlockSize="80h"
I am going to release 1.09 soon and it will contain over 400 NAND definitions.

Download Attachment:
47293

The file uploaded here is in progress. Newer software will handle this file better. You might see more duplication with this file since the IDs are too short.
However if you specify the chip it will work.

Yes, I changed the nand.txt but no result again. I am using 1.07 version and Smart copy mode. The TV goes in loop with the dumps I have. By the way, one of my dumps works fine except smart menu if I program it on RT809H. If I use GQ-5X for programming the TV goes in loop. Does anyone have a working dump for Samsung 5500 series MB BN41-01661 nand K9GAG08U0E? I need it badly. I bought three programmers including GQ-5X but got no result. Please help.

If you just do pure copy then there is no difference between 1.07 and 1.08. If you want to "Fix" the bad block which is normally the case then try 1.08.
Basically when it is not "working" is because your target chip and source chip has different bad sector map. 1.08 has slightly different algorithm than 1.07. However there is no guarantee it will work.

This is like older days when we use floppy disk (or hard disk) when they have the bad sectors, if you do "disk copy" the target disk files may not be accessible. However if you do file copy your files are perfect but the disk images are not exactly the same.

When bad block is in the firmware area, the "smart" copy normally will work OK. When the bad block is in data are, the smart copy might not work since unless the "file copy" method is used.
There is no universal "file" copy yet to be known.

clonage K9F1G08U0D-SCBO et E ( new desing) ....
nouvelle version K9F1G08U0E' new desing = Qté = 5 = seraient toutes SANS bad block , MAIS Echec total !!!

That means that GQ-5X is not suitable for programming K9GAG08E0U and that also means that I wasted my money again?

attention = sur les TV séries UExxD5500 ou UUxxD5700 (SMART TV) il y a une BN41_01660 ( avec K9GAG08U0E) = 16 Gbits . ce n'est pas le cas des BN41_01661 ( sans aucune NAND ) ou les BN41_01747 ( avec NAND 2 Gbits ) utlilsées sur les UExxD5000 ( pas smart TV) , qui sont nettement plus fiables.voir =

Well, I need the dump for BN41-01661 as well as a programmer which can do the job. I have my own repair shop so I need to do it myself. Regarding TNM5000 - I have a contrary datum that it is unable to program K9GAG08U0E which was mentioned by the manufacturer.

When bad block is in the firmware area, the "smart" copy normally will work OK. When the bad block is in data are, the smart copy might not work since unless the "file copy" method is used.
There is no universal "file" copy yet to be known.

MANN France please use proper English. I copy and paste your text and Google cannot translate it.

For your reference, I own a TNM5000-NAND programmer and I do not see it has any better functions than GQ5x other than specify the start and end blocks.

1.09 will release soon and add this feature in.

Dear GQ5XSupport,
It would be great if you could test the 1.09 on Samsung BN41-01661 (Samsusng 5500 Series). I am fighting with K9GAG08U0E for months. Please make it happen, Sir.

moi aussi > = I am fighting with K9GAG08U0E for months. Please make it happen, Sir. THANK YOU !!

N.B => for K9GAG08U0E = read BN41-01660 (Samsusng 5500 Series) = SMART TV (de merde) 2Goct : 100% bad blocks ; not BN41-01661 (Samsusng 5500 Series); but BN41-01661 (Samsusng 5000 Series)= OK ---> not NAND on printed board or BN41_01747 = better , not SMART TV ; not Smart HUb , Significantly more reliable ; K9F1G08U0D-SCBO =128 Mocts = only 70% Bad blocks ; 30% Without bad block ( on order 10 components) = clone = full OK

verry NOT Great != good copy of BN41-01661 ??? Does not have a NAND at all, only a BGA box for the firmware (UE xxD5000, not SMART TV)

good copy of BN41-01660 ( séries SMART TV UExxD5500 or UExxD5700 ) ??

I have been sending components in Canada for months, I have been waiting for a copy of NANS since !! = Must not dream; The GQ-5X does not work with bad blocks, or it's by chance (not matching the mappings of the [source] user data with the bad blocks, without "fiddling" addresses = a miracle !!) be brave !!

)bon courrage !!

As of the bad blocks,
1. I have purchased TNM5000. I do not see it has the capability to handle bad block better than GQ5X. I will add support to bypass the blocks. See picture.
2. We provide NAND programmer to program the NAND flash. We are not making NAND flash working on TV system which the OS not known (most likely linux). We provide tools like diskcopy not file copy. Third party software might need to generate proper file for the TV for particular chip. We have done some simple tricks to BYPASS the bad blocks. TV most likely are using Linux as its OS. In linux there are several file systems like SquashFS,jffs2 etc. Even for SquashFS there are versions of it. Each one might handle bad blocks different. In old days, on a DOS system, there is a FAT table to mark the data and bad blocks. IF that is the case, for each bad block the FAT table needs to be modified as well as the data needs to be moved to different location. These are done by the OS not the software that do the copy. An older days diskcopy will not do the work a file copy does.
If the algorithm of the bad blocks for TV system is known or documented somewhere, we are more than happy to put in our software.

3. My understanding is that if the bad blocks is in the firmware area, the skip bad blocks works fine which is already in 1.08. If the bad blocks is in the data area, the current algorithm is not sufficient and I do not know any programmer can do it.

C'est incroyable être aussi incompétent! Bien sur que le BN41-01661 a un NAND c'est un KFG1GN6W2D.

If it goes in a boot loop you didn't follow the instructions correctly before making the dump.

nouvelle version K9F1G08U0E' new desing = Qté = 5 = seraient toutes SANS bad block , MAIS Echec total !!!

That means that GQ-5X is not suitable for programming K9GAG08E0U and that also means that I wasted my money again?

voir détails http://www.mcumall.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=8170
clonage K9F1G08U0D-SCBO et E ( new desing) ....
nouvelle version K9F1G08U0E' new desing = Qté = 5 = seraient toutes SANS bad block , MAIS Echec total !!!

That means that GQ-5X is not suitable for programming K9GAG08E0U and that also means that I wasted my money again?

attention = sur les TV séries UExxD5500 ou UUxxD5700 (SMART TV) il y a une BN41_01660 ( avec K9GAG08U0E) = 16 Gbits . ce n'est pas le cas des BN41_01661 ( sans aucune NAND ) ou les BN41_01747 ( avec NAND 2 Gbits ) utlilsées sur les UExxD5000 ( pas smart TV) , qui sont nettement plus fiables.voir =
http://www.mcumall.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=8170

PLEASE STOP TELLING LIES! And read, if you know how to read.

BN41_01661 has a NAND containing the firmware like all Samsung TVs, it is IC1301, a KFG1GN6W2D.

So you confess the problem effectively comes from your long standing inability to make a copy.

You are now telling that the MCU Mall service is top notch. Like all the big players (think Microsoft) MCU Mall releases software revisions to iron out bugs and introduce new functionalities.

N.B => for K9GAG08U0E = read BN41-01660 (Samsusng 5500 Series) = SMART TV (de merde) 2Goct : 100% bad blocks ; not BN41-01661 (Samsusng 5500 Series); but BN41-01661 (Samsusng 5000 Series)= OK ---> not NAND on printed board or BN41_01747 = better , not SMART TV ; not Smart HUb , Significantly more reliable ; K9F1G08U0D-SCBO =128 Mocts = only 70% Bad blocks ; 30% Without bad block ( on order 10 components) = clone = full OK

So much wrong in your post.
Again BN41-01661 has NAND.
The software does handle bad blocks.
Maybe you should buy NAND chips programmed in Poland, it would save us the deception.

Thanks.

Yes but not exactly the same models. Canadian versions are also plagued with the same dreaded boot loop.

Thanks.

What are those sources? Are you sure those dumps where made correctly?

verry NOT Great != good copy of BN41-01661 ??? Does not have a NAND at all, only a BGA box for the firmware (UE xxD5000, not SMART TV)

good copy of BN41-01660 ( séries SMART TV UExxD5500 or UExxD5700 ) ??

I have been sending components in Canada for months, I have been waiting for a copy of NANS since !! = Must not dream; The GQ-5X does not work with bad blocks, or it's by chance (not matching the mappings of the [source] user data with the bad blocks, without "fiddling" addresses = a miracle !!) be brave !!

)bon courrage !!

Again, the NAND is IC1301.
A BGA box?
Why have you been sending components to Canada?
NANS?
Yes the GQ-5X works with bad blocks.

Like all the big players (think Microsoft) MCU Mall releases software revisions to iron out bugs and introduce new functionalities.

moi aussi > = I am fighting with K9GAG08U0E for months. Please make it happen, Sir. THANK YOU !!

N.B => for K9GAG08U0E = read BN41-01660 (Samsusng 5500 Series) = SMART TV (de merde) 2Goct : 100% bad blocks ; not BN41-01661 (Samsusng 5500 Series); but BN41-01661 (Samsusng 5000 Series)= OK ---> not NAND on printed board or BN41_01747 = better , not SMART TV ; not Smart HUb , Significantly more reliable ; K9F1G08U0D-SCBO =128 Mocts = only 70% Bad blocks ; 30% Without bad block ( on order 10 components) = clone = full OK
see = http://www.mcumall.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=8170

clonage K9F1G08U0D-SCBO et E ( new desing)

So much wrong in your post.
Again BN41-01661 has NAND.
The software does handle bad blocks.
Maybe you should buy NAND chips programmed in Poland, it would save us the deception.

+1 Poland is renown for it's chips, potato chips that is.

verry NOT Great != good copy of BN41-01661 ???

+1 Sending junk components to Canada is a new pass time for him.

I tried Sizegentics for long time without results and it almost. Things changed with Phallosan but a gain of only 1 inch. You can check the details here https://buffaloreport.com/phallosan-forte-review-results/.

Embarking on the journey of writing a literature review can be daunting, but it doesn't have to be a solitary endeavor. Through a serendipitous discovery, I found a website where adept writers offer their skills to aid individuals like myself. Their insights https://literaturereviewwritingservice.com/ help writing a literature review and proficiency transformed my writing process, leaving me grateful for the invaluable assistance.
