Hi, I just received my new GQ-4X. I've had a lot of problems just keeping the USB driver enabled to get my programmer "initialized" and communicating with my windoze XP based computer. Once I did finally get it going (After about 12-14 installs and removals) I ended up backing up an eprom. yea!
But now I have really messed up lines in the code memory area starting right after line "00000000". The lines look like there are NOT in order...what is wrong? See the photos I uploaded. The first photo is what the last few lines used to look like, the second photo is what it looks like now. Something happened and I don't know what to do. -mark

I fixed it...it was ridiculous! When I changed the screen monitors' resolution from 800X600 pixels to 1024x768 pixels, it corrupted the code buffer memory lines on the programmer's "Code Memory" display page....nuts. Anyways, that's fixed....whew!
Now, I do I keep the USB driver support enabled without having to remove the software and then re-downloading the software - every time I want to read/burn a blank chip? Thank you for any help you can give me on this... -mark

You do not have to repair the display, unless you need a perfect buffer dispaly. The software automatically adjusted the length of buffer to fit your display setting. It is totally fine if the buffer is not displayed 16 bytes per line. Basically it can be any number of bytes per line. That is the visual effect only, all data will keep aligned in memory internally. You also can adjust the software windows size from left side of software window to change the display alignment. OR maximize the software window should work too.

The software only need to be installed once. Also, new version software installation will not affect the the USB driver. The USB driver is not always enabled.
