I've had my Willem programmer for well over a year now, and have found that it works great as I've only ever needed to program 29F010 chips. However I've recently purchased some SST27SF512 chips for a different application, but am having trouble getting it to erase the chips. I've searched for solutions and tried to use them but they all refer to using the Enhanced Willem programmer. I am pretty sure mine is only a standard programmer (ie. no push buttons on the circuit board).
My question is can the standard Willem programmer handle erasing these chips, either in its raw state or in a modified state? If it requires modding, where do I start?

| bump... does anyone know about this? The more I think about it the more I am sure I bought the Universal Willem Programmer, not the Enhanced version... |

If you have the enhanced programmer (push button switches), set the device selector to W27C and use the program to erase. I haven't tried erasing on this programmer and don't know how well this will work.
If you have the dual powered programmer, you need to install a jumper on the JP1 header to erase (top two pins on the right column of pins). This assumes that the 27sf* erase logic is on your board. Most boards have the diodes for this feature on the solder side of the board.
