Hello guys,

I have bought this PIC programmer: h**p://www.ebay.com/itm/Enhance-JDM-PIC-programmer-V2-Microchip-40pin-lowest-cost-Great-deal-/110759718689?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19c9cb2f21

Now I need a USB to serial adapter since my computer doesn't have a serial port.

The question is, can I buy for example this one: h**p://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/webweb/40005-2_001.jpg ? I heard some adapters doesn't work with PIC programmers due to the voltage they transfer but I don't know anything about that.

Can anyone tell me what it needs to have or how it has to work in order to work with the PIC programmer I bought?

Thanks a lot!
Matt

The JDM does not work with USB-serial adapter. Only works on real RS232 port.

So I need to buy an old computer with serial port just to use the PIC programmer? That doesn't make any sense... Mine (a laptop) doesn't have any serial port.

Is there any other way?

There are USB version PIC programmer available. Those programmers only need a USB port in order to work.
