Hello,

I have a GQ-4X and I am trying to take a BIN of a chip out of an automotive ECU.

The ID is 898D, I believe this to be an Intel i27C256 (32Kx8).

Although this chip is listed as compatible I cant find an exact listing for it in the software.

I have tried various ID's and get different results, in fact i have had different results using the same chip/ID even when the chip has not been touched in the ZIF on successive reads.

The chip legs are not perfectly clean but I would think clean enough.

I load various version of the BIN into tuning software and compare them and they are different. :/

Why am I getting varied results ?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

John

There are more than one factors will lead to this result.

1. The chip itself. The chip may not in a good condition. All EPROMs have its life span. If your chip was erased more times, then it may not work reliably.

2. The programmer is unable to provide enough DC power. This may caused by bad USB cable, or the chip need more DC current power. You can try to use a external DC power.

3. The programmer software algorithm need fine tun. Try to slowdown the speed. If it does not work, then the algorithm need to be tuned. Since the chip exact pat number is not in list, so it is not tested and confirmed on this software.

4. Pin contact.
