hello can anyone help me im trying to copy some information of a pic chip as the other one was damaged.
i got a full working unit

this is what i did

first i check the one im copying is in full working order
the oscillator is running perfect.

i removed the chip cleaned the pins load it up on the programmer which is a
True-USB PRO GQ-4X Willem Programmer

to copy the pic hex information.

when i copy the pick and check it with the check sum it comes up
correctly
but here the issue i have now

were the good chip i copied and re solder this back into the working unit
i turn the unit on and the oscillator is not running at all
no signal
were before it was working perfect.

has any got any ideas were i gone wrong in programming the pic
is there a special way to copy these chips

is there something in the menu that i need to setup correctly
before i copy it over to a blank pic (this is wiped first)

this possible might explain why the oscillator is not running
its not set up correctly

also can these pics be copy protected or design not to work
again if you copy the hex over

please can someone in the forum help us

thank you

The original chips should be always READ-ONLY. And only read it if you have to.

If the checksum is correct, then check the CFG bits settings.
