Hello!
First post around here. Got the GQ-4X recently, and have been very pleased, so far, with it (pretty nice, overall, for my needs). Also have the ADP-056 JTAG adapter, and custom wire/harness for handling any pin-out (either from Programmer or on target system).
Now, I have this Xilinx XC95144XL (in external appliance) and a .JED file (over 120K+) that I would like to program... but I keep getting a "Data file not loaded into Buffer", or similar. Also (forgive my ignorance), but when selecting the Xilinx (as Device) it only reports a 1024bytes "programmable" space, unless I am reading or doing something wrong.
How can I program / load this .JED file into the Xilinx?
Thanks for any help! |

Do not worry about the size of 1024 byte. It uses actual size of the data you loaded.
However, it does not accept the .JED file. It needs a .STAPL OR .JAM file. The programmer acting a Jam STAPL Player when programming those devices. |

Many thanks!
Just one last question: any dependable way or tool to convert my .JED file into .STAPL or .JAM file, so I can re-program my XILINX XC95144XL?
Any guidance is truly appreciated! |

THANKS!
I will definitely try this one. Now, I first need to find iMPACT and where to download it, from... |

UPDATE:
Ok, Folks, finally managed to get a .JED to .STAPL conversion, via iMPACT, thanks to someone else's skills and goodwill. The resulting file is a long, 300+ Kbytes, structured text file, with specific commands & sequence (when zipped is just 24+ Kbytes, though).
Now, after:
a. Placing the ADP-056 adaptor, b. Setting jumper to Programmer-power, c. Launching GQ-USB-Programmer utilility, d. Selecting XILINX XC95144XL device, e. Loading file as "XILINX Stapl", and then hitting the "Write" button (with no physical connection yet between the ADP-056 JTAG header and target system, just testing)....
...I still get the "Data File Not loaded into Buffer" (exactly the same problem as before, when trying to load the .JED file, directly).
Not sure how to attach the .STAPL file, here, but let me know how to send for quick review (something is wrong, somewhere, and I cannot point-it out, though).
THANKS!

Try: a. Placing the ADP-056 adaptor, b. Setting jumper to Programmer-power, c. Launching GQ-USB-Programmer utilility, d. Selecting XILINX XC95144XL device, e. Loading file from the file history list in the bottom of File menu item.
I rememered someone said the only load from file history list works. |
