Hey, i cant seem to erase these chips. i bought 12 of them off of ebay and I cant erase any of them! They always get to "Erase by timeout". And then when i check it hasnt erased anything...Chip IDs fine, can read the chips.

I have successfully written and erased these chips before...what else could i be missing? I have checked "temporary unprotect" and still no luck.

Is there any other settings i can check or things i can do?? Im at my wits end here!

Yes, i have tried other speeds, same result. It shows like its erasing but the chip is still full.

Is there a special "Locking" method that these chips might be using that the Temporary Unprotect doesnt do? Again, these chips are AM29f032B chips.

@MyLastWord:

Your post didnt really make sense. But instead of just posting something like that, it would be more helpful to actual attempt to help with the question asked.

Hi,

I recently had to face the same issue with AM29F032 and MBM29F033 chips.

The solution I accidentally found is to move the software window uning the mouse during the erasing for maybe 10s.

It causes a bug that freezes the software and consequently suspends the 40s timer.

I believe that 40s is too short for some large and slow chips to ensure complete erasing.

It would be judicious to update the software in order to change the value of the timeout to 1 minute for instance.

This old issue of old times systems reminds me the days of my childhood.
