As mentioned in the title I am trying to read a mx25l8005m2c-15g with the ADP-004 adapter. I know I should use the ADP-027, but I do not have it. The chip's size is 200mil and the adapter fits 150mil so I just decided to stick it with some solder on top. All the connections tested fine from the chip to the pins on the adapter.

The documentation shows that this chip is supported but when I go to read it, the program reports it can't check the ID and asks if I want to continue or cancel. I continue and get nothing but 0's. I have the adapter placed in the bottom of the ZIF socket and pin 1 for the chip is inserted in the bottom right corner of the adapter.

I just can't get it to work out, some help out would be great.

All read/write works correctly, only ID does not work.
The ID problem should be fixed in next software release.

For now, you can use this line in devices.txt:
Name="MX25L8005",ID="C22014",Class="W25X10",Category="SERIAL_EPROM",MFG="Macronix",Vcc="3.6V",CodeSize="1048576",Adapter="SOIC8-DIP8 or ADP-004";

Big bump, but I found out why I was having trouble with this. I can read and verify the chip fine but when checking the device id it comes up with FFFFFF? It is a working mx25l8005 chip shouldn't the ID be obtainable? I am using the latest software version and all other chips I have can be ID'ed.

All chips and adapters are lower edge aligned with the ZIF adapter. Unless it indicated in the software.
The pin 1 always toward the ZIF handle.

Do not use mark on the adapter bottom. Always use marks on the adapter top if any.

Ah, ok. I think I had the adapter turned around when I was writing this, and to comment further; the 1 on the bottom of the adapter - does it mark the corner position for pin 1 also. And to be clear, does the adapter go in the lower half of the ZIF socket also? I really don't know why I am having so much trouble with this adapter :s

pin 1 should always to top left corner of adapter.
