Posted - 04/30/2009 : 04:12:23 I am using GQ-3X Re-1.20 to program lots of M27C256B-12F1 (made by ST) EPROM chips. Problem is that it started to fail during writes more and more often. Currently it programs only ~20% of chips without errors. Most often it fails on address h0800, but addresses differ. It does read them correctly, though. I have resoldered all of ZIF socket DIP pins, ensured that there is a good contact between chip and programator's board. And it still ens up with errors. I have also tried to connect a 2.2k resistor between GND and OE pins of M27C256B-12F1 - no luck. I have checked that it supplies proper Vpp and it was correct - around 12.7V.
I can't work with it anymore, work is at hold, and my boss is angry as hell. What can I do about it? If you need more information, just ask.
I use newest available software and driver. OS - Windows XP professional x64

Posted - 04/30/2009 : 11:57:03 What is the exact error message? Does it failed when writting or verifying process? To use external resistor, it should be about 0.68K to 1K ohm resistor betwwen GND and CE pin of chip. Pin 14(GND) and pin 20(CE) on chip.
