It looks like this will work for most of the chips I need.
I didn't see 574200, 578200, 82s123, 82s129 on the list. Did I miss them, or are they just not supported? If they are not supported, would it be possible to add them in the future?
I have narrowed my choice of programmer to this, the EasyPro90b, or the Top2049. The Top2049 seems like it has the most potential (ie, less need for adapters), but also seems to have the most QC complaints. The GQ-4x seems like it might be the best choice to use with a Vista64 laptop. The 90b sounds like it might be a good choice as well, but I have read the least about it.
Can anyone offer any opinions on which is a better choice?

We are trying to find any 82s129 chip for testing. Also, we do not have programming algorithm for 82S129. If you have any information on how to program this chip, please forward it to support@mcumall.com. That will accelerate the speed of adding this chip. |

Ok, thanks. I just wanted to make sure.
What adapter would I need for the 82s129 chip? What would it take to add the support. That is actually the first chip I will need to program since the one I have has a leg broken off. Need to burn a spare.
Are the 574200 and 578200 not able to be added at all?

The external power input is designed for using unpowered USB hub.
Most of NMOS chips do not need the external power. Unless the write fails on those chips.
Most likely you do not need the external power. |

Wow that was fast! It selected the D2716 chip, and the software said to use an external power source. Does that chip draw more power than the USB port can supply? Is the power supply needed a pretty common part?
The programmer read the chip fine. |

Thanks for the quick reply. I will go with the GQ-4x mostly because of the support. It is nice to be able to ask questions. Please try to get those bipolar chips added; that would be great. What adapter would I need for that? I am going to order the ADP-054 adapter with the programmer.

GQ-4X does not support 574200, 578200, 82s123, 82s129. With adapter, the 82s123, 82s129 may be able to added.
The EasyPRO90B and TOP2049 do not support those chip too.
From software supported OS and technical support point of view, the GQ-4X is the best. |
