Posted - 07/12/2009 : 16:43:35 I just got my GQ-4X and have some questions. My bricked laptop has bios chip FWH SST49LF008A-33-4C-WHE in TSOP32 package soldered. Here is the datasheet h**p://www.sst.com/downloads/datasheet/S71161.pdf. I discovered undocumented 10-pin service port connected directly to the FWH chip pins as fallows: 1-??? 2-Vdd (3.0-3.6V) 3-FWH0 4-FWH 1 5-FWH 2 6-FWH3 7-FWH4 8-CLK 9-RST 10-Vss(circuit ground) I couldn't trace pin 1 to the chip (any idea?), but I guess the port is for in-factory bios recovery. I have FWH/LPC+ Adapter V2.1 Can I in-circuit reflash the chip using this adapter connected to those pins? Also does GQ-4X use FWH protocol mode when programs FWH chips?

Posted - 07/12/2009 : 22:15:26 The programmer uses parallel mode to program the FWH chip, not the FWH mode. I think the FWH mode programming need more pins to control than those 9 pins on the port.
So, the chip need to be placed in a FHW TSOP32 adapter for the programming.
