I have a tsop40b adapter for my lhf08ch_1 chip and when I go to set it up in the program I have been choosing lhf00l28 profile and setting the adapter to 3.6V. Whenever I choose to read, it will, but I am not able to erase - it just hangs.

I have the correct chip orientation set and am stumped on why it won't erase. Here is the datasheet:

Got it worked out. Found that it does have its lock bit set.

ID seems OK.

It gives a ID of 89A6A6 with Mfg Intel and unknown device. Sound right?

You should be able to get the correct ID (89A6) before doing any thing.
This chip has protection feature. If chip been protected, then the chip can not be erased.
