Greetings. I have had this programmer for over a year and have now noticed a windows error "Program not responding" XP Pro does recognize the programmer, I have uninstalled the software and installed the latest software with the new divers.
GQUSBprg 5.00
GQ USB Driver 2.01

The software seems to "hang" and does not respond to any input. I begin with "Device" and nothing happens. Is there a cure or fix that I'm not aware of? I have very good computer skills and cleaned the registry after "Uninstalling" the original software.
The install was fine and did update the drivers through "Device Manager" and so far no errors are seen.
USB\VID_0547&PID_2131\5&276E2798&1&2

Is what I see so far.

Maybe I haven't made myself clear. The problem is starting the program, nothing has been read yet. The program locks as it's turned on.

i've found the tsop adapter needs cleaning every 5 or so uses with contact cleaner and a fibre pen to ensure reliable connections, especially when using lifted chips (and going by the part number i'd assume they're lifted chips ;)

Thanks, I've tried three different computers with all of the same faults. The software was removed and reinstalled. A new cable was used. If this programmer requires service, who is it sent to?

If your computer recognizes the programmer and load the driver correctly(you can check from the windows device manager). Then most likely the programmer have some communication problem. Since you are using the GQ-3X, you need to check if there are any dust on the programmer. Especially between the chip pins.

Clean the programmer and see if it makes better. If not , then you may need to send the programmer back for the service.

Also, change to another USB cable and see if the cable problem.
