Posted - 03/08/2010 : 05:39:55 I am using PRO GQ-4X to programm a PMC pm49FL004T-33JC. I am using the FWH/LPC+ V2.2 adaptor that came with the PRO GQ-4X full pack. The PRO GQ-4X software shows to use the ADP-030 or ADP-057 adaptor. I assume that my FWH/LPC+ V2.2 is the ADP-030. The adaptors that came with the full pack have no ADP markings.
I have chosen the PM49FL004T*PLCC32 for the device within the software. When i goto the ID tab it shows the device ID hex as 7533, Manufacrurer as Aster Electronics and Type as unknown device.
When trying to erase the chip a message appears "ID Check Failed ,(7533) Please check device type, chip;s orentation and pin contact etc I can then continue however when carring out a blank check i get a message Device blank check failed at address 0x000000x,Read=0x75. I also get a write fail as assume that the chip is not blank.
I would be grateful if someone could advice if i am using the correct adaptor and what i am doing wrong.

The programmer is in good condition.
That is a common contacting issue when using a adapter. So, always move the adapter a bit (wiggling) after the adapter locked. That will get big help on pin contact problem.
Many Thanks for your post ZLM. I have used my PRO GQ-4X quite a few times now on different chips. I am very pleased with my programmer and at the moment have no problems. Once again thank you.

Posted - 03/20/2010 : 09:07:39 My new PMC pm49FL004T-33JC chip arrived yesterday. I am getting sometimes the same results in the PRO GQ-4X providing different manufature ID with both the old and new chip. The fix seems to be to push the adapter little bit in ZIF socket left/right to reduce the adapter pin contact issue with the ZIF socket. This works every time. Is this normal for programmers. My PRO GQ-4X and adaptors are approx 3 weeks old. Everything else seems to work great. Any responses into this would be gratefully appreciated. |

Looks like there are some pin contacting issue between adapter and programmer, OR chip with adapter socket.
Check contacting by followings:
1. contact of adapter in ZIF of programmer. Please the adapter in ZIF, lock the handle and then push the adapter little bit in ZIF socket left/right will help to reduce the adapter pin contact issue with the ZIF socket.
2. contact of chip in PLCC32 socket of adapter. Do not push the chip too deep in the PLCC32 socket will work some times.
3. Use multimeter ot check all pin contact is needed.
Ive ordered a new bios chip to rule out the bios chip. Since then it sometimes correctly identifies and reads, writes. verefys ect then other times you get the same different manufacturer id - Seems ZLM advice about pin contact on either the zif or adapter being correct. I currently suspect the adaaptor as i have no trouble with chips connected directly to the zif. The new chip will not be recieved for a few weeks. Shall update when new chip recieved. |
