I am trying to read and program a 2816 EEPROM. I read that some of these programming voltages need to be as high as 25V. The GQ-4X did not come with an external power supply, and I would like to know how these chips can be programmed. What is the specifications on the external power connector, and when should the external power adapter be used, and what type of adapter should be used? Thanks in advance.

Try:

Name="5516B",ID="XXXX",Class="AT28C16",Category="FLASH",MFG="SEEQ";

Is there a tutorial for creating new chip profiles?

Thanks for the fast response.

The chip looks like a SEEQ 5516B which I am assuming is a replacement for the Intel's version (2816). I want to make sure I have the correct settings for this chip by choosing 2816.
I do not see the 5516B in the datasheet, but I am assuming it will be close enough to the 5516A in this datasheet:

h**p://www.hamradio.cc/projects/syntorx/SEEQ_datasheet.pdf

If someone could check the specs and see if I need something special to read and write to this chip, I would appreciate it, I do not see SEEQ in the software or the 5516 family...

Thanks.

The chip 2816 does not need the external power adapter.

There is a step-up programming voltage circuit on board. So, you do not need worry on the voltage.

The external power adapter required if you connect the programmer to a un-powered USB hub.
200mA or above, 9V, center positive regular power adapter will work.
