We have used these PICs extensively in our products for many years, and have programmed them with the PICstart+. We really need to be able to program the PIC16F72 because we are replacing the old PIC16C63 with the flash PIC. Please let me know if there is a way to add this device so we can use this programmer.

The closest supported device is probably the PIC16F73A.

Try to add this line into devices.txt file.
