Posted - 03/31/2011 : 17:20:39 I recently formatted my PC and now after installing version 6.1 of the software the programmer no longer wants to work with the 16 bit adapter. The chips pass the blank check but fail within the 1st second when writing.
Elapsed time: 154.75 seconds. Chip is blank Writing... Code Elapsed time: 1.26 seconds. Write failed, Address=0x000000, Buffer=0x00 Device=0xFF Write failed
The jumper setting is correct, the needed address wires are there.
The only thing that changed, is the software. Do I need to update the firmware on the programmer for it work with the newest software or is there a place where I can download the old versions? I think I had v5.01 before.

Posted - 04/01/2011 : 23:24:10 Just found a 16 bit EPROM software bug in Re6.10.
Now Re6.11 build should fix the problem. Try Re6.11
The old Re5.01 has some other major bugs. So, I recommend you to use Re6.11

Posted - 04/01/2011 : 10:16:57 Got a hold of 5.01 and so far so good, writing and verifying the chips just fine. So 6.10 doesnt like the adapter for whatever reason. And that was after probably trying 30 different chips and reseating the adapter every time, tried a bunch of 27c322, 27c160, 27c4096 all with the same results. |

Posted - 04/01/2011 : 09:32:41 Is it possible to get the old software version? So that I can rule that out. I never had issues like this before, where it outright doesn't even want to start writing. |

Posted - 04/01/2011 : 06:29:18 Pin contacts appear to be fine, reinserted multiple times, checked for cut traces.
I can read from the device just fine, but I cannot write anything to one. |

Posted - 03/31/2011 : 20:46:12 GQ-3X Re-1.50 is the latest firmware. You do not need to upgrade the firmware. The new 6.10 software has no change from Re5.01. It should work. There are more factors will let program fail. Check your pin contact. |
