People,

I need to reflash a dead bios from a laptop mainboard, but my soldering skills are extremely poor and I don't want to risk killing it completely.

I'm going to buy a Wilhem USB programmer, but first I need to know which adapters are compatible for programming the chip without soldering.

I think I need this adapter:
http://www.hmcelectronics.com/product/Pomona/5733

But I don't know how exactly to connect the pins to the programmer. Would two packs of these wires be enough??

Does the programmer have pins to connect the wires directly???

Please guys, I need your help, I have to revive this laptop as soon as possible!

May I ask why?

The Pomona 5733 adapter has been designed to clip onto soldered chips. There's no need to desolder anything.

Can I connect the cables from the Pomona adapter to your universal adapter (ADP-023) ??

Please, tell me what is the problem. The cables conduct electricity. They should work as long as they are connected to the correct pins!

all PLCC32 BIOS chips have to remove from the motherboard.
it must be programmed on the programmer.

My idea is to buy the willem usb 4x programmer.

I'd also order two adapters like this one:

But then, how would I connect the pins? In what order??

The BIOS is a SST39VF040 chip PLCC with 32 pins soldered directly on the laptop mainboard.

Thanks a million!
