Hi, I bought a gq4x to test a ds1225ad battery backed SRAM but when writing a file to the ic I Get an error that writes ff to the first location 0000. I paid 12 quid for another chip thinking it was that but get exactly the same fault. I bought this programmer to test a chip that failed to work in a machine even though the original chip works but loses everything because the battery is dead. Why wouldn't a brand new one work. Headache

Fixed! Changed the codesize of the ds1235y and ds1235ab to that of the ds1225ad in the devices text. Found that the DS1225AD needs the Class="BQ4015", Package="DIP28" and PINVCC="ZIF32_PIN30" for it to work.

Also noticed the -2 speed is much faster than the +2, which causes write errors all over

Thanks for your reply, I selected the ds1225y which the only difference is the battery in this one is on from manufacture where the ad version connects the battery when Vcc is first connected. The error message is:- Verify Failed, Address=0x000000, Device=0xFF, Buffer=0xA7
Everything writes fine apart from the first location which always reads back FF.

The ds1225ad is not in the confirmed list. Even though it should work.
What device you selected from the software?
What is the exact error message you got?
