Posted - 12/27/2013 : 12:43:35 Hello, I have some of these chips I would like to program. The pinout is identical to AM29F160 chips, but I cannot get it to identify on the GQ-4X. It is not in the device list, but its basically identical to the other 29F160 chips that ARE listed.
What can I do to program these chips on my GQ-4X?

Posted - 01/02/2014 : 14:28:24 Figured it out! Changed jumper J2 from 29F to 28F. Its odd that this fixed it, because you'd think being a 29F160 chip it SHOULD be on the 29F jumper and NOT the 28F one...
Thanks anyways. |

Posted - 12/30/2013 : 12:27:44 ok I got it to ID by changing the jumpers, but it comes up as an AMD AM29f160BB. Now, when I erase and blank check everything seems ok, but it will not do a write passed 3%. I have tried slower speeds and different chips (these chips are brand new) and they all fail at 2-3%. When that happens, the VCC and VPP flash off for a second on the programmer and then the percentage stays stuck at 3%.
What else can I try? |

Posted - 12/30/2013 : 09:48:24 There are more than one factors for the "Unknown Device":
1. poor pin contacting 2. bad chip 3. wrong position in ZIF 4. wrong adapter. etc.. |
