Posted - 03/26/2007 : 00:28:14 I am attempting to get my newly purchased True USB programmer installed and working. My laptop OS is Win 98SE. The install went normally. The drivers seemed to install correctly. When I start the program I get a notice that "Did not get a response from programmer". The USB cable is plugged in and the green LED is lit. The programmer does not work at all. Checking Device manager, I see that the USB controller, GQ USB Programmer has an error. The message is that NTKERN.VXD could not load the device driver. I uninstalled the software that was on the CD and downloaded the latest version from the MCU mall web site. I installed that (v 1.12), but no change. What next?

Thanks for your help. My autoexec.bat didn't have the statements addressed in the MS help. I started with a clear autoexec.bat file and re-installed the program, but got the same results. The drivers appear to load, but do not. I installed the software on a desktop machine running Win2k and the software and USB prograsmmer works fine. Since I now know where the problem is, I'll keep trying to find the solution.
Thanks again.
