Hi, ive programmed the MX29LV160CB with no problems (around 100 of them) but this BB will erase and blank test fine, but errors instantly on a write.
any suggestions? |

Did you try any others, same brand? Just make sure the chip is good.
Check the Temp. Unprotect check box see if it makes different.

i dont have anymore BB's, but it came from a working device, for the time being ive swapped it for a compatible one.
ill keep hold of this one and wait till more come in (this are modem repair jobs), when i get another BB ill try it then and see what happens and report my results.
and temp unprotect was first thing i tried, with no luck. |

i have same problem macronix chip mx29lv160bb
the program reads the chip but cant program im using the last update!! and also have problems on this chip The TE28F160 is made by Intel.(the intel chips came on the pansat 3500, 2700 and the surf board modem 5100)
some boxes have macronix amd and a rare brand saimpo(not shure) |

make sure you have voltage set at 3v if using GQ-4X with 5v it fails |

i have GQ-X3 same problem no change!!!
the intel t28f160cb3 have same problem, im using the same confuguration shows in board, and nop cant do...
on some other chips like the 29lv800 im using another brand to readit and programit whit no problems..
butt the intel no change dont program, can read butt no wrigth on it!!! |

Received two MX29LV160BB chips. Tested on both GQ-3X,GQ-4X, software Re.4.01.
Test report as bellow:
======================== The GQ-3X programmer ======================== 1. ADP-003 TSOP48 8 bit adapter. Select MX29LV160BB from software. Set adapter on 5V, 29F jumper position. Three address wires are connected(A19,A20,A21)
-ID OK -READ OK -ERASE OK (With Temporary Unprotect Enabled, make sure the yellow VPP LED is on when erase),ERASE will fail without Temporary Unprotect Enabled. -Write OK (With Temporary Unprotect Enabled, make sure the yellow VPP LED is on when write) -Verify OK
2. ADP-042 TSOP48 16 bit adapter. Added new device in devices.txt if you are using software Re 4.01 or before version:
Name="MX29LV160BB(16bit)",ID="XXXX",Class="SST39VF1601",Category="FLASH",MFG="Macronix",Speed="5",Adapter="TSOP48 16 BIT Mode",Message="Set the adapter jumpers to VCC 5V and 29FX00 position.";
Select MX29LV160BB(16bit) from software. Set adapter on 5V, 29F jumper position. Three address wires are connected(A19,A20,A21)
-No ID function -READ OK -ERASE OK -Write OK -Verify OK

ahh, solved it.
to erase i need temp unprotect, but when writing you need to untick it else you will get an error. |
