 programing an atf16v8 chip

Hi:
i need to apply a dump .ABS file to a atmel ATF16V8 chip, I have seen .HEX and .BIN files but i never seen such file. how can you load this with topwinen.

The TopWinEn accept .hex, .bin, .jed, .cds.
So you need convert your .abs to one of those format.

But when i try to open the file it will ask me in what format do i want it ( hex or bin, etc), does it make a diference in what format i flash the chip?

The software will not convert it for you. The software only ask you to confrim the data file format. You need convert it before open it.

could you tell what software to use to convert the file from ABS to
bin or hex?

I have no idea what .ABS is.
What compiler produce the .ABS?

i don,t know, but that file it,s suppose to be to flash a atf16v8 chip for a car diagnosis interface.
