I recently got a GQ-4X and as a matter of trying it out. I got out an old flash chip I pulled of a motherboard. Now I seem to be able to read it. (In fact I seem to have a found a joke in the code ;-) ) However I can't seem to erase it! Now I connected a dc adaptor and everything..but it just wont erase it. Any tips?

edit: forgot to mention. I also already tried filling the buffer with FF and then writing that. But that didn't work either.

edit2: tried another chip (not the same type) and it DID erase it. So it's probably not the programmer.

It's a dip package. Of course there's the possibility the chip is busted. But stil nice of you for checking :-)

Your chip seems been locked out. If your chip been bott sector locked out, then there is no way to erase chip.
