Is the F25L008A –50DG 50MHz 8 lead SPI bios chip progammable with the GQ-4X?

Datasheet:
www.esmt.com.tw/DB/manager/upload/F25L008A.pdf

How do you know whether a chip is compatible (Supported Device List) or when a device entry can be added to devices.txt?

Thanks.

Try to add following line into devices.txt file:

Name="F25L008A",ID="8C2014",Class="W25X10",Category="SERIAL_EPROM",MFG="ESMT",Vcc="3.6V",CodeSize="1048576";

Can you erase the chip?
If you can erase the chip, then the chip is not protected.
Also, you need to get correct ID and read the chip correct.
