Hi!
I have a Willem GQ-4x programmer and I have a problem in programming Winbond W39V040FAP chip bios that is stuck on the computer mainbord (MSI 848p neo-v). It is written "Bios 1" next to it which means that there is somewhere "Bios2". How can I rewrite it? Which adapter do I need to program the chip directly?

I have found an "Atmel 425 93C46 SI27 A" chip and I used short wires to make contact with it. I've written it with AT 93C46A 16bit but it isn't working. Can you help me?

W39V040F chip need a adapter to be programmed. FWH/LPC adapter.

"is nt working": programmed correctly but is not working? OR it can not be programmed on board?

Thanks for your help!

"it is not working" means the first one = I've programmed without errors using 8 pins dip/soic clips, but the board doesn't boot at all. Maybe its problem isn't the bios and in this case I should buy a motherboard analyzer card.

My concern is another one. I would like to know if I could program (winbond) chip bios without unsticking it from the board/ with Willem programmer. The chip isn't put into a plcc box, so, for programming, I have to take it out from the board cutting its pins. Is there another solution? Can Willem programmer be used for programming chips directly on computer motherboard? If so, tell me what kind of tools do I need?

The programmer is able to program the SPI BIOS chips on boards. Those chips are normally 8 pins SOIC or DIP packages.

For other FWH/LPC BIOS chip in PLCC32 package, you have to de-solder it off the mother board. The tool used is a hot air rework station for removing the SMD chip.
