Ok so I have a 29F400 TSOP48 Fujitsu flash rom I need to program and what I have to hand is a small adapter PCB which converts it to PSOP44 (minus the top two pins), a PSOP44 to DIP44 adapter and finally a ADP-054 adapter.
I can read the chip and it verifys with data I already have on my PC which I know is already on the chip so it's being read just fine, however I need to erase it and reprogram it and that's where I have a problem.
I don't really know what device I should chose in the GQ Programmer application since it's being adapted. I tried a few different devices and they all read the chip fine but none will erase it. It just says erasing, takes about 10 minutes then says 100%, hangs for another 5 minutes then when I check the chip still has the data on it.
What do I need to do to fix this?
The full model of the chip I want to modify is 29F400TA-12PFTN and is a Fujitsu chip.
Check the datasheet again and you need to exactly map all TSOP48 pin into PSOP44 pins. and then you can select eithe PSOP44 type or TSOP type device from the software.
One other thing I should note is that where you would normally have an address line on a EPROM or mask ROM this flash chip has a reset pin. If I leave it as it is the chip will not read at all as I assume it's held low so constantly resetting, however when I tie this to vcc it reads in just fine, but still won't erase.
Since there are other pins on this that are not present on normal roms, I have a feeling it's not treating it as a flash rom, but as an eprom.
Does that sound right? I've tried every type of 29F400 in the device list and all have the same result.
I'm loosing the will to live with this thing, please help!
