When i select any chip with 95160 my GQ-4X programmer freezes and you cannot select anything else. I have an soic8 adaptor and have read without the chip and it brings on the red VCC lighCan anyone tell me what im doing wrong??

Is there a Manual for this online?

I have also tried to read a 95128 chip also but it brings on VCC light on programmer and freezes. Are these chips covered. They are from a citroen/ peugeot edc 16 ecu and i have now tried 3 of them. ?????

What is your software version?

Does the programmer works on any other chips?

Are you sure those chips are good chips?

Also try another good USB cable.

I have read various other chips in the last few weeks since i got it. Soft version is
Ready
H/W Re: GQ-4X Re-1.42
USB Driver Re.1.0
Software Re. 6.17
Checking new software on server...
This software is updated already.

When i select any of these 2 types of chips then the Vcc light goes solid red and program freezes. It even does it with the soic8 not in place. Please try this and search 95160 or 95128 and VCC light will go solid. I have checked all the settings but cannot get it to change. Yes if i read other chips they are ok.

I have read and written both these chips with ultraprog as i could not get them wo work on this GQ-4X. Maybe someone can just try this and let me know if its my programmer or a problem with the software??

If you can 100% sure those chips are good, then try another good USB cables.

Those chips are working on my programmer. The software is OK.

I have read M95160 and M95320 with out any problems.
I just tried M95128 with 95160W chip in it and it read very good.
Sometimes those chip can not be read in circuit so it needs to be desolder.

That is normal. Read/write in circuit is complicated. It is depending on your circuit design.
