Most AVR chips have In-System-Programming(ISP) capability. So, those chips can be programmed after they have been soldered on PCB.

When you design a PCB, you need to design a AVRISP programming port. This port is linked to your AVR chip.

Once you have chip on board, you can connect the GQ-4X to your target PCB board AVRISP port to program.

If you do not have PCB ready, then you need to build a simple adapter based on how you chip fuse bits configured.

If your chip is configured to use internal clock, then it is easy. You just need to connect those pins to the chip. For ATMEGA48V TQFP32 package, you just need ADP-080, ADP-067 and jumper wires.

If your chip is configured to use external clock, then you need to add a CPT-045 Crystal Oscillator to it as main clock, and then connect the GQ-4X to adapter.
