Hi!
I have a GQ-4x4 usb programmer and I have used it succesfully in the past to dump and write different ICs.
I also have a playstation modchip with 12C508A written on it, that I want to dump its data to a bin file.
First of all I can't find the chip on the device list so I choose the closest one "12F508A".
Still I cannot read its contents - every time it shows different data on the buffer. I have confirmed that the chip is in the correct position (pin 1 of the chip on pin 12 of the programmer)

Is this IC (12c508a) compatible with the gq-4x4 device?
Is there something I am doing wrong and I cannot read its contents?

thank you

I think I figured it out, but I'm not sure I did it the right way.
I found a reference of the 12c508a inside "devices.txt" file, and I added it to the supported list below (removed the ";" in front of the sentence)
I was then able to see the "12c508a" under the supported devices list when I opened the programmer's GUI, and dumped its contents successfully.
Is this the correct way to read this chip?

It seems it was commented out of the devices.txt.
