Gqelectronics assistance reply that is a net problem. Disconnect internet before start usbprg (disconnect cable or poweroff wifi) and then start usbprg. They ar working on this issue
Fabio Posted - 06/07/2022 : 07:45:50
Found solution.
Configure usbprg.exe in "XP compatibility mode service pack 3".

Hi,
Same issue here :
I've got my new GQ-4x4 working on WinXP using the XP driver and USBPrg v7.9.
However, I've tried it on 2 Win10 machines ( with GQUSBdriver3.0Win10.64bit.EXE ).
It starts and can do things like test its voltages, but it crashes when asked to read, blank-check, etc.
Same with & without an extra 9V power supply.
Any ideas ?
regards,
mark.

I just received my programmer and am having the same problems. Went through all the above steps, same results. Sounds like a bad batch of programmers?

Well I am also having a similar issue..... and the programmer was just sent to me this past week, brand new from MCUMall....

I am trying to read a TMC2532A (its a 21v EEPROM, so I know it can at least read it) - I am NOT using an external power supply at this time....

I have tried to load the software on 3 seperate machines, one of which I loaded with a completely clean install of Windows XP 32 Bit, with SP3

The utility to check the health of the device gives the same out as what vashadow gets... yet anytime I attempt to do anyting else with the reader, the app hangs, windows' immedieatly says "This program has stopped responding" and I have to close it out.

I am running the USB 3.0 driver as offered from the site.... the computers are:

1 - Macbook Pro running VMWare (just to see if it would work)
2 - Dell Inspirion 6000 - 512 meg RAM, 160GB HDD, Windows XP SP3 completely clean install
3 - Dell Inspiron 5100 - 1 gig ram, 250gb HDD, Windows 7 32 Bit (has other software loaded and those run fine)

I have run hardare diags on the USB 1.0 and 2.0 ports and they come back without issue.

So I am looking for guidance as well....(if you all require screen shots or screen captures or need indepth log file info, I am happy to generate that)

ok, ran a full uninstall and then rebooted. Then to just make sure downloaded new software just to make sure there was nothing in the other download. Installed the software again and it's back to crashing as before on both machines.

Try another USB cable.

In the hardware test I can confirm the device and hear it beep. not sure what the rest of the screen is for.

It's for toggling the value of each pin. Try completely uninstalling the software, reboot and reinstall.

When I tried without a chip the crashing is the same. With or without a chip, as soon as I hit read or check blank, the software crashes.
So far I have tried the M27C512 and the AM27C64, I tried a few different chips of each.

The crash seems to happen before it even tries to open the chip itself. Kind of like the driver is failing. But I can pull the ID of the 512 chips at least as the 64 chips don't support ID. This tells me the reader is talking to the chip because if I remove the chip and hit ID it says no ID found.

Can you run the diagnostics?

Does it crash with other chips?
