Using a GQ-4X with an ADP-015, I can erase chip but I can't write it. When I read the lock it says in protected mode 4. Unprotect is always greyed out. To get it erased I have to run protect under lock first. Once its erased to all FF's I can't get it to write. I tried the PLCC socket with that version of the chip which were blank to start with and it seems to work ok. I have to run protect on it before each procedure. The DIP chips I am using are previously used. Any help?

Try to use slower speed.
