I'm trying to copy a AM27C020. It reads ok and I get the correct checksum but when I save it and try to put it on another chip it changes and gives me a bad burn. Any ideas?

I think all AM27xxx in OTP( one time programmable).
I believe you can use AM29xxx witch can be read/write many times.
Also you need to empty chip firs before you want to write.

This maybe is your problem.

Before you clcik on write, the checksum must be a good checksum. Then the chip must complete the write and has to be verified with same checksum.
