the eeprom is in the 3rd dil socket down (93cxx)and dip switches all off
i cannot get it to read any data. the buffer just shows empty

I seem to have the same problem. Same hardware/software version, but I am trying to read a 93c56.
I have tried both 8 bit and 16 bit modes and tried slowing the read time w/o success. |

Are you sure the chip is not empty?
Can you just write something into chip? |

I think my problem was that I was trying to read "on Board" using a clip, but did not use the ICSP header and instead ran a 1:1 to the DIP socket. I found some image in the D/L dir that made it click for me. I am still have "some" issues, but I need to weed out to see if it is user error, of maybe me corrupting the Bin on the chip from trying to read/burn using the wrong method. I actually desoldered it to test other methods.
I will create a new/separate thread if need be. |
