its coming up with this:

Error 1303. the installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory: C:Program files (X86)/ GQ USB Programmer. the installation cannot continue.Log On as an administrator or contact your system administrator.

The thing is, this is my PC and i am logged in as administrator and i never had issues installing software, just this time!

Any ideas please?
Thanks

right click the file you downloaded from mcumall and goto run as administrator

failing that, goto properties and then compatibility and tick run as admin

Hi, thanks very much for your help, i did the second option ( compatibility ) and it worked, it let me install software.
But when i connect the programmer, i get a pop up on the bottom right corner, new device found...installing driver software... and then it says: driver not found with a red cross !!!
I havent installed the USB driver from the disc, i am lost cause i get this when i click on: USBdriverV2.0.1_32_64bit, i get:
amd64 file folder
X86 file folder
GQwin64 setup information
Readme text document

which one is it to install USB driver ????
Thanks again

I assume you are using 64bit windows, based on the "program files (x86) folder.

You need to copy all those files into a folder on your desktop called "drivers"

When you connect the programmer, in device manager right click and goto update drivers. then point it to the drivers folder yabove. this should install the drivers for you.

Hi, yes i am using windows 7 64 Bit.
it's seems sorted now, i went to device manager, inserted the software disc that came with the programmer and installed drivers from there.
It works so far.

Thanks very much for your help, Top Man!
