Hi all, I have a true GQ4x4 and have removed the SOC8 chip from an ECU 074 906 021S which is 24C02 and installed it in the adapter and connected the adapter t the programer in the position farthest from the loc lever with the chip indicator dot facing the lever.

I select All generic 24C02 from the device list and then when I read it, it comes back with read complete on 0.7s and the buffer is filled with all FF.

If I do a blank check it comesback blank when it is not.

Any ideas please ?

OK a little update - I red on another forum that this has been a problem for others using the GQ 4X - they also could not get a valid read with device set to 24C02 and managed to get a read of the 24C02 chip by setting the device to 24C08.

I tried this too and then managed to get a read that looks good but has too many rows.

I exect this is some sort of bug or driver problem facing the GQ 4X4 ?

Is there a way to change the file to be compatible with 24C02 ?

Thanks

Try with this:

Name="24C02 5V VCC",ID="XXXX",Class="24C02",Category="SERIAL_EPROM",MFG="ALL(Generic)",VCC="5V";

Simply add the line to devices.txt or customdevices.txt.

Thanks but I checked the program files folder for the programmer and no such file exists - just .exe / .dll No sign of devices.txt

where do I find this file please ?
