Hi, i have finally ordered my very first universal programmer GQ-4X, i cant wait to receive it, sorry i am new in this field and i have a couple of questions: - i need to read a 25C160 SPI EPROM chip from a car radio, i know this programmer supports this chip but do i have to remove the chip from the board or can i do it on-board? do i need any adapters and also, is it easy to do this ? in general.
Thanks |

If your board has a SPI port for programming, then you do not need to remove it.
But if not, then you can try to use the test clip to program it, but that needs some try.
Remove the chip and program it on the programmer is the best. |

"damaged the board" ??
I think you did not use a good tool to remove the chip. If you use rework station, you will never damaged the board.
Picture will help.
