i have tried time and again to read this eeprom
any clues as to the settings that will work?

im using enhanced programmer with 0.97ja software.
pcb3 selected, default vpp and eeprom selected, although i have tried the other eeprom options.

the eeprom is in the 3rd dil socket down (93cxx)and dip switches all off

i cannot get it to read any data. the buffer just shows empty

thanks for your help

I seem to have the same problem. Same hardware/software version, but I am trying to read a 93c56.

I have tried both 8 bit and 16 bit modes and tried slowing the read time w/o success.

Are you sure the chip is not empty?

Can you just write something into chip?

I think my problem was that I was trying to read "on Board" using a clip, but did not use the ICSP header and instead ran a 1:1 to the DIP socket. I found some image in the D/L dir that made it click for me. I am still have "some" issues, but I need to weed out to see if it is user error, of maybe me corrupting the Bin on the chip from trying to read/burn using the wrong method. I actually desoldered it to test other methods.

I will create a new/separate thread if need be.
