I read about the ENHANCED Willem not having enough current to program some EPROMs like 2716/2732... The USB port can only deliver so much. Is there a way to put in a wall adapter to give it a bit more current to get over this problem?

I do not think use a DC adapter will simply gain the current.
You may need more changes on the board. Such as change the Vcc control transistor and resisters.
The low current is not because of the USB port. There are some design issue there since it is not focused on higher current devices.
Also, since there is no schematic available, you may need trace the circuit. To find the exact component you want to change.
