| trying to burn a 29c256 chip with top853 programmer. Every time i try to burn the chip a chip i get an error. I need to know what update i need. also the burning process steps.. |

The TOP853 only works for AT29C256 manufactuered at year 2000 and before. See note on this device in supported list.
I have no idea why, but it does not work on 2004 chip which I have too. |

| Well I wish that was stated when i purchased the item..In the list it says it supports 29c256 atmel chips...in dont how I am suppose to know when the chip was manufactured..and also where can i get more chips |

| If you bougth this programmer is not too long time ago. Just write to the seller and ask if they can do a trade-in and exchange to a different programmer. I think they will consider it. |
