hi can anyone help me out with the problem or tell me where im going wrong.
is there something that needs to be altered in the setup for the pic to work correctly
im using a willem programmer with the new software version.
what im trying to do is get a known good copy of a hex file from
a pic chip
and copy this over to a new one
but after i program the chip and put this back in the unit it came from it remains dead.
the unit itself is working as i tried the known good pic chip in it and this boots up
this is what im doing i do the following to copy the known good pic chip to a hex file
1)select the correct device
2)dont alter anything on the menu device (?????do i alter anything on the pic settings)
3)dip switches confirmed on the board as the device setup
4)go into buffer 1
5)read pic chip
6)hex file shown on the screen in the buffer.
7)save hex file out to pc
so now i got a good hex file from a well known working pic chip.
hopefully i done it correctly but not sure
to load the hex file up to the new pic chip this is what im doing
1) go to buffer
2)file load up file buffer 1 (hex file confirmed its ok)
3)program chip
4) it goes across the main bar 70% then goes off
that it nothing else
what im i missing :? :?

This is correct steps. If the chip can be verified, then the new chip should be programmed correctly.
However, the software may handle good in CFG bit, you may need to carefully check the CFG bits are correctly programmed.
You can use another software IC-Prog-105D on this programmer. The IC-Prog-105D works better I think since it is specificly for PIC chip. |

these type of pic are surface mounted that go onto of the board |

hello ZLM i did the chip verify confirm and it says the hex is ok
but i used the program you said ic prog older version.
this did a perfect dump of the chip
but came up error VERIFY FAILED ADRESS 0000H
when i tried to reprogram it
so i used willems programmer to burn the hex
and it worked
the only error in there program is that it does not come up done
it stays on and say programming pic config area |
