The chip I uploaded is 27c256 then in put a 27256 in the programmer, make sure it is blank (ok) then I press program at slowness speed starts to program then get error ( 0000c2:error!(file=78,chip=ff)this just one of the error messages, each time i try a different chip 27256 i have 4 of them each one gives me a different error

Thx Raj

if you get the latest software topwin3.28

youll see the slowness quickly etc choice menu has been replaced by a chip timing list

i use 200us for eproms marked 200ns and it works fine
so get the latest version
from

http://www.top2048.com/gb/soft.htm

i did this to replace it

plug in the top programmer as usual
go to the control panel >>system>>device manager
and youll see jongo devices
and windriver

it must be done in stages in xp
the installed hardware drivers removed first

so youll notice a top win programmer pnp driver has poped up there
{if not right click the user name at the top and select scan for hardware}

so double click the top win programmer icon
and select the driver tab and uninstall
when it asks !!! choose to delete the drivers associated files
close this window and then do the same for the win driver

then !!! no restarts
and unplug the hardware

now uninstall the topwin app
clean up any left over dir's
{shift delete} {like C:\Top}
and then reboot
and on desktop roboot
install the latest version

and then when it comes to ?load driver click yes
and let it close and finish

then again reboot and then !!! you can plug in the hardware
and it will auto install
when the menu for internet search comes up click no not this time

and then just set it to look for the driver automaticaly
then start the software and check for coms and voltages
etc
i notice youll need to restart the software if you plug in an external supply to the programmer after starting the software
or if coms gets lost in runtime
dont know how this pans out if you do this then program stuff

however using the top2049 its very similar
and i see support is fixed on 256k and 512
and no mention of 1mb types being fixed ill try 3.28 see whats new
although i havent tried yet with a few exotic chips i have,,, it claims to program {need to find a use}
