Hi,

The "AVR JTAG ICE and AVRISP ISP programmer" does not compatible with JTAGICE MKII.

The JTAGICE MKII is PRG-042 AVR JTAG ICE MKII

Does PRG-042 support PDI interface?

Which interface use JTAG and/or PDI for XMEGA by PRG-042?

XMega support two interface, JTAG and PDI.
PDI interface is faster communication speed.

P.S.
Some JTAGICEmkII is not support PDI

Note: Not all JTAGICE mkII units have PDI capabilities. To check whether your JTAGICE mkII is PDI capable, look for the following:

Serial number on underside starts with B0...

Green LED lights inside the encapsulation when a USB connection is made

There is a green LED in side the box near USB connector. And it will be on when using the USB mode. But no serile on the case since it is not made by Atmel. I think you can return it if it does not work.
