Hi, I brought the http://www.mcumall.com/comersus/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=3081 programmer and I can’t get the Willem Eprom 0.97ja to recognize the hardware through the help -> test hardware menu. It says check hardware error: check power & connection. I have 2 computers with parallel ports, one with XP and one with 98 and I have been through the BIOS and have tried EPP, ECP, Bi-directional and normal but none of them work. I have +12vDC plug pack connected to the programmer. When I first tried the Willem programmer on XP it came up with a privileged instruction error in which I applied a patch (http://www.benryves.com/products/remappediodll) which seemed to stop that error but I still can’t get the hardware recognized. I am trying to read a 27c128 out of a GM ECU. I heard these programmers need alot of setting up, have I missed a step?
It says on the website that I have a PCB3B programmer however there is PCB4E stamped just above the J4 connector. What software should I be using?
I think the port is communicating with the board because when I test it the red and yellow lights will flash. I have also played with the Test H/W tab and the red light will light up when I select the VPP check box. It seems to work but still get a hardware error
I just got a Willem PCB5.0 but I can not make it work.
My all configuration seems ok and there is no problem in wires and connections.
I fire up 0.98D2 and plug usb cable yellow led is on, after that I connect data cable and green + red lights are on. When I hit Test Hardware green and red turns off and green blinks.Nothing happens and I get Hardware error : Check Power and Connection.
Jumper for software selection is on the right side (PCB3.B) BIOS setting is EPP and operating system is XP Pro Sp2 32 bit.
I am about to loose myself I dunno where I am doing wrong.
If you have any suggestions please help me to get out of this situation.
