Could any body please tell me if I need an adaptor to program/test PIC 16F872 soic 28 smd in circuit, the header connections are next to the pic on the pcb and I have tried connecting wires from the GQ-4X to the pic header,I have traced connections back from pic to header ie Vpp/RB6/RB7/VDD/VSS ,but cannot test it just says please wait or check connections, the pic out of circuit test ok in adaptor CNV-SOP28.
I have not switched the pcb on for power to pic , I am using power of GQ-4X.

Just connect Vpp/RB6/RB7/VDD/VSS pins from programmer ZIF socket to your PCB ICSP port. It will work. You can use jumper wires to do that.
