All,
I have a old GQ-2X programmer I purchased new back in 2006. I purchased this Programmer and all the adapters that were available at that time.

I have been organizing my 40+ years of computer tools etc and ran into this GEM on a top shelf.

I used this originally to repair an old Arcade machine for a friend (Elevator Action) but today I am looking to burn some EPROMs for my retrocomputing needs. I do have another programmer besides.

I was able to get the original CD and GQ-2X Programmer working on a Windows XP Virtual Machine (Virtual Box) without too much hassle.

I would like to run it on something newer Operating System wise as well as possibly upgrade the application to possibly a later version.

Will this programmer run under Windows 10/11 or Linux(under Wine/ natively)?

There is some mention of it possibly running under Linux (Wine) out on the web. It identifies under lsusb/I created a udev rule for permissions but started to run into a few errors and went the Virtual machine route.

I have looked through the downloads on MCUMall but I am not seeing anything listed for the GQ-2x?

I have also tried a couple of the newer UsbPrg versions without much luck from the MCUMall downloads area.

Is there a max USBPrg version I should use versus the latest one in the downloads? Do I need to install additional Windows drivers for the new USBPrg program?

Has anyone created a 3D Printed case for it? I see a couple cases out on the web but nothing specific for the GQ-2x. I thought I would ask before I alter one of those to fit the GQ-2X.

Any help or direction is greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the consideration,
Chris
